Missions

From our front door to the edge of the earth.

We are a “great commission” church.  Jesus commanded, “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel!”  We have the best news.

Our Lord describes the sphere of outreach to “Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the uttermost part of the earth.”  This means we are responsible for local impact and global outreach. Our ministry style is “partnership” (Philippians 1:4-6).  We do not serve alone, but in relationships with others who share our mission and vision!

We are passionate about sharing the Good News around the world with missionary partners in Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America.  Jesus said, “ALL THE WORLD”!

Team members are active in identifying mission opportunities locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.  This team organizes, promotes and schedules regular and special mission offerings.  The Missions Ministry team takes the lead in educating the church on mission issues, encouraging mission support and scheduling missionary speakers.  Opportunities for ministry include local missions such as helping with food pantries, clothes closets and shelters, regional missions such as volunteering as a camp counselor, cook, nurse, or handyman at Baptist Youth Camp and international missions such as participating in our annual short term trips to the Dominican Republic.

Baptist Youth Camp (BYC)

United Baptist Church has a healthy relationship working with Baptist Youth Camp “BYC”.  Throughout the year, BYC offers a variety of Christian camping, retreat, worship and learning opportunities for all ages.

The natural setting of BYC on Lake Pennamaquan in Charlotte, Maine is the perfect place to come away from the rush of the world and encounter the Living God in the beauty of His creation.

Relationships and worship are essential parts of the BYC experience. It is our prayer that when people come to BYC, whether for a day or for the entire summer, their lives will never be the same.
